| &quo;Denise&quo; Roe, Abortion Death | |
&quo;Denise&quo; is one of the women Life Dynamics identifies on their &quo;Blackmun Wall&quo; as having been killed by a safe and legal abortion. Denise was 27 years old when she underwent several attempts to abort the same pregnancy some time before 1980. Three different attempts were made to perform a D&E procedure on Denise, but none of these attempts ended her pregnancy. After the third attempt, the doctor believed that he had perforated Denise‘s uterus, so a laparotomy was performed to look into her pelvic cavity. During the laparotomy, the doctor discovered why the multiple attempts to extract Denise's fetus were unsuccessful: the fetus had implanted in her abdomen, not in her utuerus. The laparotomy also confirmed the suspected uterine perforation. During the laparotomy, Denise bled to death, leaving two children motherless. Even though, in theory, women who choose abortion should be less likely to die of ectopic pregnancy complications, experiences shows that they‘re actually more likely to die, due to sloppy practices by abortion practitioners.
